This 7-piece Model R from Renulife comes complete with original paperwork; a certificate of authenticity, a physician's booklet, and an electrode chart. It also has the sales slip dating to 1920. It was a smaller-sized physician's kit that was also available to the home user if they could afford it.
On the outside, its larger case commands attention. The hinges and fittings are of a blended copper and brass alloy, and are covered with real gold leaf. This gives this piece's hardware an elegant roseate glow. The case interior is lined in lush purple velvet, with the signature raw silk ribbon as ornament. The top of the electrical box is highly polished mahogany, rich with a beautiful grain. It is truly a piece of art. Covered in black leather-embossed buckram, a material used in fine book-binding, the case itself is of good solid wood with dovetailed joinery. From its black goatskin leather wrapped handle, to the gilded lettering around the adjustment knobs, every detail is perfection. It's a heavy piece, weighty and substantial.
But, not only is this wand beautiful in its construction, it is beautiful in its function. It has a bi-level adjustment knob on the left, and a fine-tuning adjustment knob on the right. The bi-level adjustment knob has two settings marked internal and external. The internal setting dampens the charge down through an insulated gap before outputting to the wand handset, while the external setting bumps the charge up to a higher level. The fine-tuning knob provides precise control over the range of output, providing a wide range.
From left to right, the following electrodes are included:
